Amanda Detmer

A lot of ladies have been in the queue recently. I mean, in line for the next POTW spot. Some of them were almost put up, but I was lazy or busy or whatever. So, today I saw Saving Silverman. And Amanda Detmer was in it. And she was great. She was sweet, and darling and a would-be nun. But there's this scene where she's got a pink bra on and white jeans and they're open and you can see her pink panties.

Well, I was won over.

Then, of course, I did a little research. She's not done much yet. And she's almost 30! but looks 24. She was born on September 27, 1971, in Chico, California. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

Now it is February 14th and I just saw her on Craig Kilborn's Late Night show. She was great. I mean, she looked great, and she held her own against Craig and she was funny and she seemed smart and cool. Plus she also talked about kissing Claire Forlani in the film Boys and Girls. She also juggled oranges, and talked about how her mom got mad at her for saying "More and more, my attitude is, 'Hey, you don't like my jiggly thighs? Go fuck yourself.'" and having it printed in Stuff magazine. Amanda is the hot, swimsuit wearing covergirl this month (February 2001).

And then she played a game of Craig's Yombo (Yambo?) against Boy George -- and Amanda won!

Films:

Saving Silverman (2001) .... Sandy

Boys and Girls (2000) .... Amy

Final Destination (2000) .... Terry Chaney

Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) .... Miss Minneapolis

And set for an Xmas release is Frank Darabont's The Majestic, a Hollywood Blacklist era film with Jim Carrey, Martin Landau, Allen Garfield and Bruce Campbell. This smells of Oscar to me. A late Dec release; Darabont who did Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. And Carrey wants an Oscar bad. Could all be very good for our little darling.

Television:

"M.Y.O.B." (2000) TV Series .... Lisa Overbeck

"Ryan Caulfield: Year One" (1999) TV Series .... Casey

"To Serve and Protect" (1999) (mini) TV Series .... Tyler

Stolen Innocence (1995) (TV) .... Dannie Baldwin
