Hi
Catherine Giraud! Thanks for writing. I love Isabelle Huppert and
you have three of her films in your Top Dozen. I haven't yet seen
Ma mère, but am excited about it. Mulholland
Drive is, in my opinion, the best film, so far this century.
It is amazing. Merci pour le chocolat, La Pianiste
and Bully are also some of the better films so far this
century.
I
have not yet seen Pasolini's Vangelo secondo Matteo, Bertrand
Bonello Tiresia, Pialat's Sous le soleil de Satan,
Fellini's Roma,
or Eisenstein's Aleksandr Nevsky.
Night
of the Hunter
is a masterpiece, and I think I saw Pabst's Lulu, or Pandora's
Box, a long time ago, but have only vague recollections. But,
of course, I love Louise Brooks.
Thanks
for writing!
