Goodbye, "Azerbaijenny Raymond" and Zev Handelman (can't do anything funny with "New York" and "Zev"). Edinburgh Castle, San Francisco, May 22, 2003.

But before the Jenny-Zev fond farewell party, here's some pix, from earlier in the month. This is my friend "Jane" in my apartment. Kojak is on TV. Close observers will realize that Kojak isn't on anywhere in San Francisco in May of 2003 and that I took an image of Telly Savalas and Photoshopped him onto the TV screen. In the second picture "Jane," is in the apartment again. Picture 3 is more introspective as "Jane" contemplates exactly what she's doing in my apartment.

I helped my friend Deb with a website project and she sent me a thank you card -- and a phat check! -- but Mr C got hold of it, as you can see. Luckily the check was barely torn.

Mr C has been losing some hair and suffering from dry skin lately. Our old remedies of powder that I have to keep in the refrigerator and small white pills don't seem to be working.

C, sunning.

A series of cute pix of "Jane" and Mr. C on my bed follow.

Cute!

Cute!

Mr C clowns for laughs.

The day of the Jenny-Zev Fond Farewell Party first saw me catch John Malkovich's The Dancer Upstairs in the main room at the Empire 3. Here I took some pix of me driving back on 19th.

I got to the Edinburgh Castle at the same time as Jenny! Coincidence, or something more sinister...? Just coincidence, I would say.

Zev enjoys a nice, cold beer, or "brew," as I like to say. But when I say "brew" I'm actually making fun of the people who say "brew."
Zev, Patricia, Aaron, and girl/woman I just met, can't recall name (don't take that personally, I can never remember anyone's name the first time I hear it). I will say she appeared to be an intelligent and attractive young woman. Diplomatic, but true...
Aaron's paranoia has turned his eyes bright blue. Are Jenny and Zev talking about him?
Amy Carroll, Cobb Scott. What's Amy drinking? It reminds me of that deadly brew of Edmond O'Brien's in D.O.A.
Amy talks to her friend. I find these pictures right here fascinating because of the color the wall looks. That weird shade of orange. I didn't remember it being like that while there -- the flash must have brought it out.
This reminds me of when the gang would get together at the Peach Pit and Nat would serve up the best burgers in the 90210 area code.
Jenny and Zev make funny faces -- as only the truly young ever can.
Amy and Gary and I played pool and darts upstairs here. They have a dog named Rufus. Gary is tall, and originally from England or somewhere like that. Amy is not as tall, and not from England. Amy and I theorized on why in the name of heck Jenny is going to Azerbaijan. Amy thinks it's because Jenny can get black market DVD's of American movies before they even hit the theatres here. I think it's something much more... sinister...
Sarah and Jenny. Sarah is going to be in some swimming marathon thing soon. Part of it involves swimming to Alcatraz. The water in the bay is cold. In fact, to deter prisoners like, Burt Lancaster and Clint Eastwood, from attempting to escape, the guards told them the water was too cold, and if they could survive that the sharks would get them. And if the sharks didn't get them the guards would probably shoot them from the watch towers. And if the guards didn't shoot them from the watchtowers...
I took this pic from up by the pool table/dart board area. In the circle are the people who came to wish the best to our departing friends. Outside of the circle are all the communists and communist sympathizers.
People gabbing. What one might call a "gabfest." If one ever used terms like "gabfest," that is.
Close friends Jenny Raymond and Amy Clark hug for what may be one of the very last times...
This box is left intentionally blank.
Another awful photo of me (I actually look unhealthily thin -- and I never say that -- I used to be fat and dozens of "chubby Ted" photos still exist) and my dear friend Jenny. Who will I see matinees with now?
