The Iced Beef Sandwich It's lunchtime! And it's hot! How about an Iced Beef Sandwich? A popular dish in the South, but little known here in California. But stand back, it's expected to the belle of the ball this summer. With write-ups in upcoming issues of Gourmet, Martha Stewart Living and a likely cover issue of the May 2001 Bon Appetit, this little southern nugget is good as gold! And simple to make. Take some roast beef -- left-over is fine! Keep it cold in the fridge, and then take it out. Put it into a blender with an equal amount of ice and let 'er rip! for no more than 30 seconds. Then take the conconction of crushed ice and shredded beef and put it inside two slices of -- preferably white -- bread. Coat with condiments as desired and then stand back for something that will keep you cool on a 100+ degree day and keep your tummy happy! The Iced Beef Sandwich!
