comments on Jerod's list:
I've seen parts of Catch 22 years ago. The remembered inspired lunacy
makes me want to see it again, but now I want to read the book first.
Sort of a Catch 22 in itself, eh? Apocalypse Now, Cuckoo's Nest, Last
Picture Show are all about the same -- very popular with people under
50. The Graduate is still very fresh and funny with work of genius by
the great Norman Fell, and Katharine Ross looking like the most beautiful
thing ever made. I only saw Angel Heart recently as it was highly recommended
by another friend. It didn't make any of my lists, but... There's Something
About Mary is very funny. I assume you mean the restored director's
cut of Excalibur which I have never seen. I need to see that one. I
love Boorman's Point Blank with Lee Marvin. Never seen Jacob's Ladder.
East of Eden is great Dean and Kazan. Watership Down is an early "adult"
(not porn) cartoon with voices by, if I remember correctly, Zero Mostel.
Never seen it. Bloody animated rabbits is all I recall.
