Minnesota: How Many Lakes -- Really?

Friday, May 16, 2003: Now, I know Minnesota has over 10,000 lakes. But I heard that during the counting process, at around 9,800, they started counting man-made ponds for golf courses, swimming pools, large bird baths and abandoned bath tubs which were constantly filled with rain water. All so they could say "Land of 10,000 Lakes" which they had already printed on countless bumper stickers, tshirts and postcards.
