World War III: Pt
I
"Charlie? Are you there?"
"Yes, Snippets."
"Call me Katayone during the mission."
"OK Katayone."
"Nam never looked like this, did it?"
"I wouldn't know."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, we've never been to Nam."
"But, I mean, from pictures."
"Oh. Oh, yeah."
A split second later they were both knocked unconscious by an all encompassing
orange and black explosion. 12 minutes later Charlie woke up. Katayone's
spleen was in his mouth. Katayone was blown all over the foxhole. Charlie
was all intact, except for one of his legs... which he could see, about
20 feet up, on a tree branch. He saw his foot, but couldn't feel it. Then
the pain started... war is hell!
