So, I'm watching The Entity (1982) with Barbara Hershey right now on Encore. There's this "entity" -- like an invisible man crossed with a ghost crossed with something that has super powers, and this entity starts terrorizing Barbara. First thing, right away in the movie, the entity slaps her and then rapes her. The entity sexually assaults Barbara several times. In one scene (actually in a few) she's nude (or "naked") and the entity is "fondling" her "breasts." I saw a clip of that scene when I was like 12 and it kind of freaked me out. I never forgot it. It may be impeding my relationships with women -- but that's another story. So anyway, it seems obvious that these must be prosthetic movie breasts with some sort of mechanical mechanism (is that superfluous?) in them making them move around this way. So, my question is: does this count as nudity? Now, Barbara is actually nude in other scenes, but here she's not, so is this considered nudity? For instance, at the end of Boogie Nights, when we see Marky Mark Wahlberg's fake, prosthetic penis -- does that count as nudity? If that movie was going to be shown on network TV, could they leave that scene in, as it certainly doesn't contain nudity? Something to think about. Note: I hope I have not offended anyone with my use of words like "penis," "breasts," "fondling," (have you ever heard the word "fondling" used before any word other than breast(s)?), "naked," "nude," "TV," or "impeding." I also I hope I didn't offend anyone if they are one of those screwball nuts who wets his/her pants over the very idea of Lord of the Rings ("oh my god! it's a masterpiece! peter jackson is a certified genius! oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!"). -- Jan 2003
